Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks: Current situation
Losing in the Emirates NBA cup quarterfinals is the last thing to worry the Warriors at this time. We all know their season will be judged on how well they do in June and whether or not they can make another run for the title with Stephen Curry leading the way. They’ve exchanged wins and losses over their last 5 games, some of the early season good form has been lost along the way and they are hoping to regain that and improve from the current 5th seed they are in.
Dallas is ahead of the Warriors in the West standings, currently occupying 4th place with a 16-9 record. They’ve been on the uprise for a while now, winning 8 of their last 10 games which is a relief considering they were in the bottom half of the West for the majority of the first month or so of the season. Luka Doncic looks a lot better than back in early November, the wrist injury he had helped him to get back in shape a little which is a major thing if you are a Mavs fan.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
In an unusual turn of events, scoring has become an issue for the Golden State Warriors as they’ve finished under 100 points in 3 of their last 4 games. In their latest loss to Houston they made just 12 of 38 threes and despite outrebounding the Rockets still lost the game. The atmosphere around the team isn’t all that great either following the outburst from head coach Steve Kerr after the loss to Houston.
Dallas Mavericks Stats & Form
Although they lost to Oklahoma City a few nights ago, the Mavericks are in much better shape mentally coming into this game. Getting healthy is all that matters for this team, right now they have 5 players on the injury report with 4 of them being front court players. The good news is the Big 3 is healthy and playing, with the Thunder and Rockets being busy with the NBA Cup, Dallas could make a small run at the number one seed in the West here.
Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks: Head-to-Head
In the only meeting so far this season Golden State came out on top 120-117, overcoming a 31 point night from Luka Doncic and 22 points from former Warriors Klay Thompson. From a bettors perspective Dallas has had the edge covering the spread 6 times in 8 meetings, however they’ve recorded just 1 victory in their last 7 visits to Chase Center.

Betting tip and prediction: Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks (15.12.2024)
Both teams suffered setbacks in the Emirates NBA Cup as they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by the Thunder and Rockets, so now the question is who recovers better? Unlike the Mavs who got blown out by OKC, the Warriors were in play all the way to the final possession in their 1-point loss to Houston, it might take them a while to recover from that game. Despite the loss, Dallas is still the team in better form here having won 7 of 8 games. Their road form is a particular highlight with a 5-1 SU record over the last 6 games played, they’re doing it by containing teams from the three-point line. Dallas is allowing just 34.7% of makes from downtown this year, ranking 8th in the NBA. We all know how much the Warriors rely on their shot from distance, but the Mavs will also have to turn their attention to the rebounding department as that’s where they lost the first meeting of the season. Golden State is the 2nd highest rebounding team in the league, but the Mavs have been able to improve in that area averaging 56 boards per game over their last 3 outings. With their trio of Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson all healthy and playing, we believe the Mavericks have a solid chance of covering the spread here. Back the road team.
