Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Current situation
The most important thing for the Golden State Warriors right now is to get healthy and get healthy fast. They are in a free fall after losing their 5th game in a row and there appears to be no good news regarding the status of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. The 12-3 start to the season is a thing of the past, the Warriors have to pick it up in their next 3 games against Houston and Minnesota (twice).
With 3 straight wins the Timberwolves are now 11-10 on the season and are starting to look like the team we all fell in love with last year. Their defensive rating went from 108.6 to 86.6 during this win streak and although those type of numbers aren’t sustainable long term, you have to feel good if you are a Timberwolves fan after such a slow start to the season. December is an opportunity for them to make up ground in the standings, with 8 of their 10 remaining games being against Western Conference opponents.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
Over their last 5 games the Warriors have fallen to 20th in defensive rating, while on offense they’re just 24th averaging 107.2 points per 100 possessions. That’s a steep decline for a team that spent the majority of the first month and a half of the season in the top 10 for both categories. As good as their role players have been this year, once again we are seeing just how reliant the Warriors are on their superstar Stephen Curry. There is no timetable set for his return as he continues to recover from a undisclosed injury.
Minnesota Timberwolves Stats & Form
Luckily for Minnesota they don’t have any serious injury issues at the moment. Only Joe Ingles and Rob Dillingham are out of the line-up, but even without them the team has flourished on both ends over the past 3 games or so. There is no room for complacency though, despite the win streak Minnesota is still outside the playoff picture in the Western Conference, they are currently one spot behind the 10th seeded San Antonio Spurs.
Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Head-to-Head
This will be the first game of a home-and-home series between the Wolves and Warriors, as the two teams meet up twice in just 2 days. Minnesota has had the edge over the past 10 games, winning 7 of them and also covering the spread 6 times. In fact, the Timberwolves are on a 4-game win streak and have swept the regular season series last year.
Golden State Warriors – Minnesota Timberwolves Odds
Backing the Curry-less Warriors to win gets you 11/8 odds, while for Minnesota to extend the win you can get 8/11 odds.
The point total has been set at 220.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves (06.12.2024)
With 5 straight losses and a tough game coming their way on Thursday night against the Rockets, Golden State is currently going through a lot. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green have both been ruled out with injury, so it’ll be up to the younger players to take over the initiative here. Will that be enough against a powerful Minnesota Timberwolves team? Over the last 3 games the T’Wolves have shown great character by beating the Clippers twice and the Lakers once, while not allowing more than 92 points in either of those 3 games. When their defense is clicking, Minnesota is hard to beat. They are slowly going back to their roots from last season, being the 2nd most efficient defense allowed them to finish atop of the Western Conference and that’s exactly the approach they have to have moving forward. Anthony Edwards has not had the flashiest numbers during this mini 3-game win streak, but with Curry out of the line-up for the Warriors here, he has one less assignment on defense to worry about. That could allow Ant Man to have a dominant performance, he has scored 20 and 33 points in his last 2 visits to Chase Center. Golden State is just too shorthanded here, plus they’ll be playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back scenario so we give Minnesota a slight advantage.
