LA Clippers vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Current situation
For a team that’s been without their best player in the opening 2 months of the season, the Clippers are actually doing quite well. They’re currently 6th in the Western Conference with a 13-9 record, just a half game back from the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks in 4th and 5th. James Harden has taken it upon himself to keep this team relevant, the Beard has had multiple big time performance in the past 10 days or so. Norman Powell also deserves some recognition as he leads the team in scoring with over 23 points per game.
The Timberwolves are one of the biggest underachievers this year with just 10 wins in 20 games, currently outside the Western Conference play-in race. The defense has been a problem, dropping more than 10 spots compared to last season in efficiency. There are some signs of improvement though as the T’Wolves have held 2 opponents in a row under 100 points. Going into December that’ll be their number one priority to fix if they want to get back to the Western Conference finals this year.
LA Clippers Stats & Form
In his last 10 games James Harden is averaging 24.3 points and 8.9 assists per game. Those type of numbers haven’t been seen since his days with the Houston Rockets. The 35-year old has had 39 and 43 points in 2 of his last 3 games, the Clippers won both of them. However, this will be a tricky game for him as LA will be playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back, this late in his career Harden has shown durability issues in these situations.
Minnesota Timberwolves & Form
Minnesota’s bench play really excelled in their latest win over the Lakers, carrying the offense for the majority of the game. That’ll certainly be encouraging for a team that’s mostly relied on Anthony Edwards to carry the load on that end. Rudy Gobert posted a dominant 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Julius Randle added 18 in the win over the Lakers. It wasn’t the most efficient of games the last time Minnesota faced the Clippers, but as long as they record a win on Wednesday they won’t care too much about the style of play.
LA Clippers vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Head-to-Head
It’s mainly been Minnesota in recent head-to-head meetings that’s had the upper hand. The T’Wolves have won 8 of the last 10 games, while averaging almost 8 points more per game. They also won the regular season opener between the two teams 93-92 last week, they’re looking for a 3rd consecutive victory in this match-up.

Betting tip and prediction: LA Clippers vs Minnesota Timberwolves (04.12.2024)
Getting just 8 points from Anthony Edwards and still beating the Lakers 109-80 is not something we will see happen often for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now they face a much tougher challenge as they take on the other team in LA, the Clippers. The two teams met last week and Minnesota came out with a tight victory 93-92, but now the series has shifted to LA for a re-match. The Clippers are the favorites for a reason, they are 8-4 in home games this season while the Timberwolves are just 3-6 on the road. James Harden has really turned back the clock in these last couple of weeks, he had yet another stellar performance with 39 points and 11 assists in the high scoring win over the Nuggets this past weekend. LA overcame a triple-double from Nikola Jokic, that will certainly make them feel good going into a game against another quality big man Rudy Gobert. His match-up against Ivica Zubac down low is must-see TV, with those two cancelling each other out it will be up to Edwards and Harden to show which team has the better superstar. It will be a tight game once again, the two teams are averaging just 209.3 points per game in the last 10 meetings, with the under cashing 7 times. Minnesota’s defense has finally started to click, they’ve held their last 2 opponents to under 100 points, we believe backing the under is a really solid bet for Wednesday’s game.
