Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Current situation
For the first time this season the Golden State Warriors have lost back-to-back games, following their 128-120 home defeat to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. It’s not often we see Steph and co. struggle on the defensive end, especially when it comes to defending the three-ball. Opponents’ percentage from three point land has increased by almost 3 percent over their last 3 games, something that’s worth keeping an eye on. Despite the loss, Golden State remains 2nd in the Western Conference, however they’ve covered the spread just once in their last 6 games.
Getting back Isaiah Hartenstein from injury has done wonders for the Thunder team over their last 2 games. One of the biggest flaws OKC had was their rebounding, simply because they didn’t have enough big bodies at their disposal. With Hartenstein back all that changes and now teams can no longer outrebound them with ease. They’re a perfect 2-0 with him in the line-up, this team is holding a tight grip on the top spot in the West with 13 wins in 17 games.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
Losing De’Anthony Melton to a season ending injury is a big blow for the Warriors, even though they are one of the deepest teams in the West. Since that injury they’ve lost 2 games in a row, against weaker opponents in San Antonio and Brooklyn. The loss to Brooklyn is especially alarming as they allowed 20 threes to go in, something that cannot happen in today’s NBA. The good news is Stephen Curry is still producing at a high level, they will need him to step up here if they want to beat the top seeded Thunder.
Oklahoma City Thunder Stats & Form
OKC got 37 points from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, 28 points from Jalen Williams and 19 from Isaiah Hartenstein as they steamrolled pass the Sacramento Kings on Monday. This team is the complete package, they are beating opponents with ease despite having two very important players in Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso out with injuries. Only the Cleveland Cavaliers have a better net rating in the NBA this season, but most people would pick the Thunder in a potential Cavs vs Thunder series down the road.
Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Head-to-Head
Golden State and Oklahoma City played each other already once this season, with Golden State coming out of OKC with a 127-116 win. In the 2nd and 3rd quarter the Warriors built up a 30 point lead and the Thunder could never recover. That game was marked by the injury to Chet Holmgren who landed awkwardly on his hip and hasn’t played since. The Thunder will seek revenge here against a Warriors team that has 6 wins in the last 10 meetings.

Betting tip and prediction: Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder (27.11.2024)
The momentum is clearly on the Thunder side here after their back-to-back wins over Portland and Sacramento. They outrebounded both of those teams mainly due to finally having a proper center starting for them in Hartenstein. This could also give them an edge against the Warriors who rank just 27th in opponent rebounds, allowing 55.3 per game. Bettors have won a lot of money on Thunder road games this season, OKC has covered the spread in 7 of their last 9 away from home. This team is still missing Chet Holmgren who is one of the more prolific scoring big men in the NBA and Alex Caruso who is an elite perimeter defender. Yet, despite both those players being out, we believe they have more talent on their roster than these Warriors. Golden State relies heavily on a 36-year old Stephen Curry on a nightly basis and although that has worked for the most part this season, there were games in which Curry has failed to live up to the expectations. We just feel like the Warriors are slowing down a bit, so backing the Thunder would be our recommended bet here.
