The Betvictor Gold Cup is a Grade 3 Nationa Hunt Chase horse race which takes place at Cheltenham on the 18th November, with a whole host of entrants set to battle it out for their share of the £160,000 prize pool. With the race set to attract a large amount of interest from betting punters, let’s take a closer look at the potential runners and riders at Cheltenham in just a few weeks’ time, as well as our top tip for the race.
Betvictor Gold Cup: Runners & Riders
Former Group 1 winners Kylemore Lough and Romain De Senam are perhaps the pick of the 45 entrants for the upcoming Betvictor Gold Cup at Cheltenham, with the duo having already been well backed. Having already won the Ryanair Gold Cup in 2016, trainer Harry Fry will be hoping that Kylemore Lough can produce just as good a performance this time around. However, having finished fifth twice at Cheltenham last year, some continue to question his suitability to the course. With Romain De Senam having enjoyed an excellent start to the season, with wins at Chepstow and Stratford, the five-year-old is well worth considering. Elsewhere, the likes of Tully East, Foxtail Hill and Cloudy Dream are all in with a shout at Cheltenham, with the former having won the Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap Chase at Cheltenham earlier in the year.
Betvictor Gold Cup: Predictions
With 45 entrants currently set to battle it out at Cheltenham, ante-post odds for the race are unsurprisingly tight. Kylemore Lough can be found at best odds of 8/1 with bookmakers including Paddy Power, William Hill and Coral, while the likes of Cloudy Dream and Foxtail Hill are not far behind. For those looking for a potential outside bet, Days Of Heaven and Minella Present look worth a shout at odds of 25/1 with Ladbrokes.
Top Betting Tip
Despite there being a number of excellent horses to choose form, our top betting tip for the Betvictor Gold Cup is to back Romain De Senam for the win, with best odds of 10/1 available with Coral.v
