Betting Tip: Huddersfield v West Brom

Huddersfield were brought back down to earth last weekend, following their huge victory over Manchester United two weeks ago they were beaten 3-0 at Liverpool. They will be looking to put that behind them when they take on West Brom, who arrive without a win in their last five games and were beaten by Manchester City last weekend. Just two points separate these two teams in the league and the game will have been identified by both clubs as one they can win. That should give us an entertaining fixture, with both teams looking for the win and Huddersfield in particular looking to attack and score goals to aid their big for Premier League safety.

Huddersfield Form

Their fantastic win against Manchester United was Huddersfield’s only win in their last five games, and they need to do more if they are to stay clear of the relegation zone They started the season well, but now fully accustomed to life in the Premier League, they are finding points much harder to come by. The belief that they can beat anyone at home will have been lifted by the win over United, and it is important they remain upbeat and focused on their home games. If they have a good home record from here until the end of the season, the chances are they will survive this season. If Huddersfield sat down at the start of the season and identified games they wanted to win then at home to West Brom would’ve been one of them, this is a huge game for them with a huge three points at stake.

The bottom of the table is very close and Huddersfield will see that a win or two can make a huge difference to their position right now. Looking up the table, they are just four points behind 6th placed Liverpool, while if they look down they will see they are just four points ahead of 18th placed Everton.

West Brom Form

West Brom are expected to be doing a lot better than they currently are in the league, they have just two wins from their opening ten games and no win in their last five games. They have managed to pick up four wins this season, and it is only the points from those games preventing them from being in the bottom three.

They have lost a lot of games by small margins and that is something they need to look at. With just the odd goal making a huge difference it is important that they put themselves on the right side of that and start picking up their own points thanks to one goal victories. While the pressure is not mounting on Tony Pulis just yet at West Brom, November is an important month for him and one he will be looking to succeed in to get his team going the right way as they head into the busy Christmas period.

Team News

Huddersfield like to play attacking football and will need to score goals to survive this season. They face a West Brom team who are steady at the back, so they will have to play well, but it is far from certain who will get the call to play in attack. Laurent Depoitre has played the past few games in the absence of Steve Mounie, but now Mounie is back fit I expect him to play. Jay Rodriguez scored against Manchester City last week and that looks to have booked his place in the team this weekend as the lone striker for West Brom.

Top Betting Tips

This game should be very well fought with both teams looking at it as a game they could win, and they both certainly need it. Huddersfield have the advantage for me and look to be a good bet at home, they are priced at 8/5 with Ladbrokes which is a huge price considering the struggles West Brom are having so far. Huddersfield look to have the better attacking options and having Steve Mounie back will be a big boost to their chances, he is the man to score their goals this season. West Brom will want to get November off to a good start here, but ultimately I think they will come up against a Huddersfield side with too much fight and that will be enough for Huddersfield to land the win. This should be close, but Huddersfield have the recent form edge and look to have more goal scoring in them.
