Betting Tip: Lincoln v Cambridge

The Imps are just about holding their own in the top ten at the moment and they seem to have recovered pretty well from their mini-slump of back to back losses. They seem to be ticking over nicely again at the moment and have a chance to keep their momentum going because it looks as if they are catching Cambridge at the right time. The U’s have hit a sticky patch of the season as they have lost three of their last four with their lack of scoring power perhaps starting to catch up to Shaun Derry’s men. Lincoln are 17/20 odds on favourites for the victory with Cambridge drifting to as big as 16/5.

Lincoln Form

Lincoln have posted a W2 D1 record in the last three games which clearly gets them over their back to back defeats against Mansfield and Notts County in the middle of last month. They are back on song on home soil, winning their last two there against Barnet and Chesterfield. Three of their last four wins in the league have been by a 2-1 scoreline and four of their five victories have been by a one goal margin. They aren’t a side who gives up too much at the back, but they are just a shy lightweight going forward. Harry Anderson who is an 11/4 anytime goalscorer is their top scorer this season with just three.

Cambridge Form

The U’s were looking in pretty decent shape from around the middle of August, but things have just started to turn a little sour. They have lost three of their last four games now and they do lack scoring power, even though they have done better in front of goal recently. Only the four bottom sides in the league have lower goalscoring tallies than the U’s do in League Two this season. The U’s have lost their last two road games as well and have suffered losses in three of their last four away from home. Cambridge have not scored more than one goal in an away game this term.

Head to Head News

The last time these two met in the league was in the Football Conference in the 2013/14 season. In that season, the two sides traded 1-0 home victories. Cambridge have a slight upper hand with a W 4 D1 L1 record against the Imps in their last six meetings. Five of the last six meetings have gone under 2.5 goals and both teams have scored in just one of those six games. This is probably going to be tight again.

Top Betting Tips

It may well be worth pushing the boat out to under 1.5 goals at 9/4 with 10bet for this one. Cambridge are feeling a bit of pressure at the moment and Lincoln have improved. Neither have a bounty of goals behind them this season, but the Imps can take a narrow win on home soil.
