Betting Tip: Accrington v Coventry

Stanley had a slip last weekend to end a good stretch of form that they were on as they couldn’t handle the in-form Luton on home soil. But they have another crack at the Crown Ground this weekend as they welcome Coventry. This is another tough one for them though because Coventry are ticking over in good form at the moment. The two clubs are sat level on 23 points each inside the top six and this should be a competitive work out for both of them. Coventry are going off as the 6/4 favourites with Ladbrokes, leaving Accrington at 19/10 on home soil.

Accrington Form

Accrington have gone W3 D1 L2 on home soil but they are now on a three-match winless streak in the league with just one point from their last three at the Crown Ground. Their away form has stayed very strong though fortunately for them. But their recent slips at home makes them vulnerable. They have actually only been ahead at the break in one of their home league games this season which isn’t great from them. 67% of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals so there should be plenty of action around in this one. Accrington themselves have Billy Kee on 7 goals and Kayden Jackson on 6 goals for the season. Defensively though they are a liability with just two clean sheets all season.

Coventry Form

The Sky Blues have been running in some good form lately with a W5 D1 L1 record in their last seven league games. They have been defensively strong this season with another clean sheet picked up on the weekend. That’s eight clean sheets in twelve league games for them this season in League Two. Away from home, they haven’t been as sharp as they have been on home soil though in the league and they are W2 D2 L2 on the road with just the one win in their last five. Just 25% of their entire league games this season have gone over the 2.5 goal mark and they go into this one on the back of a 0-0 draw at Barnet last weekend.

Head to Head News

There have only been the four previous games between these two and none since 1960. While none of that counts here, from those four previous games, Coventry are 3-1 ahead.

Top Betting Tips

This should be a good game and Coventry do look the better value of the two because Accrington just are not delivering on home soil at the moment. The Sky Blues haven’t been great on the road, but defensively they should get the edge in the match and do enough to come out on top.
