Betting Tip: Colchester v Mansfield

Colchester have produced a real mixed bag of results recently and that has kept them down in the bottom half of the table, but pretty well clear of any issues of the drop zone. As for Mansfield, they have strung together some decent form recently and they are now just creeping up on the top seven places in League Two. The Stags have been flying under the radar a bit this season, but can raise their stock with a win. They are favourites to claim the three points in this one with Colchester at 13/10.

Colchester Form

Colchester have produced a W3 D3 L5 record across the board this season in League Two and that goes to show you how unpredictable they can be. They have picked up just the one win in their last five league outings but that did happen last weekend as they pulled out a surprise win at Yeovil. That was their first away win of the season and at home at the West Homes Community Stadium, they have produced a W2 D2 L1 record this term. They are still seeking their first clean sheet at home this season though.

Mansfield Form

So the Stags have been rising up and they have lost only one of their last nine league outings. Their entire season reads well with a W5 D4 L2 record having been posted. They are a much stronger side at home though than on the road, as away from home they have gone W1 D2 L2 and lost a road trip to Cheltenham in their last away game. But last weekend they took a 3-1 home win over the in-form league leaders Notts County and that will have done wonders for their confidence.

Head to Head News

Colchester took a comfortable 2-0 win last season at home over Mansfield, which followed a 0-0 draw away against them. Colchester are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions against Mansfield with a W3 D2 record from that sequence. Last season’s meetings were the first between them in League Two and the U’s took a clean sheet in each of them.

Top Betting Tips

This has a draw written all over it. Mansfield haven’t produced the goods out on the road but they are a hard side to take down. Colchester just haven’t done enough at home lately to suggest that they can go out and debate them. Settle on the draw.
