Exeter got themselves out of their mini losing slump with a win last weekend as they put Morecambe to the sword. Will they be able to follow that up as they make a long trip north to take on Carlisle? These two met in the play-off last season and produced two thrilling games after two equally thrilling league encounters in the regular season between them. Hopefully, we will get more of the same as these two clash at Brunton Park on Saturday. Carlisle are 7/5 favourites with Coral to win this one, but that just leaves Exeter at great 9/5 value.

Carlisle Form
The Cumbrians have won two of their last three league games but that has been their only two in their last eight outings. So it hasn’t been the greatest of form from them and they are just lacking any kind of consistency. The two wins in that sequence both happened out on the road as well, which means that they are winless in three at Brunton Park this season (D2 L1), part of a W1 D2 L2 record there. Both teams have scored in just one of Carlisle’s last six League Two games.
Exeter Form
After dropping just two points in their opening eight league games, Exeter hit a sticky patch of back to back defeats. But they shook that off in style last weekend as they took a big 4-1 home win over Morecambe. The Grecians are still running along in the top two and with the Cumbrians struggling, they could strengthen their opposition this weekend. Out on the road, this season Exeter have posted a W3 D1 L1 record, the defeat happening in their last away game which was out at Coventry. Exeter have yet to claim a clean sheet away from home this season and haven’t been behind at the break in any of their road games.
Head to Head News
So there were four meetings between these two last season and three of them ended up in 3-2 scoreline, while the other produced a 3-3 draw. That’s 21 goals in four meetings. Six of the last eight games between these two have seen at least three goals. Carlisle came out on top 2-1 with one draw last season in the head to head, but Exeter won the play off tie 6-5 on aggregate, so delivered when it mattered the most. Carlisle have lost just one of their last six against Exeter in a W3 D2 L1 record.

Look over 2.5 goals then to start with out of the gate. There were some tremendous ding-dong battles between these two last season. Exter have picked up the pieces this season the better of the two and can go and collect an away win to start gathering momentum again.
