Betting Tip: Crewe v Stevenage

Crewe are almost at the bottom of the current form table (last six games) in League Two. That is because they are on a horrendous five-match losing streak, but that was preceded by a win so they aren’t quite the worst at the moment. They will be if they lose this. Stevenage come to town to play and they are on a three-match winning streak so will be full of beans for this one. It is Boro who are trading as the favourites at a price of 7/4 to win this, leaving the Railwaymen at 29/20 on home soil.

Crewe Form

Crewe are tanking badly them at the moment on a five-match losing streak. It’s been a stark turnaround because they only lost one of their opening six matches and they were looking pretty solid. But ultimately their lack of scoring power caught up with them. They have failed to score in five of their last seven league outings now. At home, they have produced a W2 D2 L2 record so far but are winless in their last two there after back to back to defeats against Cambridge and Carlisle. Only five teams in the league have scored fewer goals than they have this season.

Stevenage Form

Stevenage are picking up the pace with a three-match winning streak. They have scored exactly two goals in each of those victories as well and it takes their overall form this season to W6 D3 L2 in the division. They have done well on the road with a W3 D1 L1 record and banked a 2-0 win at Carlisle in their last away games. They have three clean sheets in their last four away games and the Railwaymen may well have a tough time in breaking them down. All three of Stevenage’s away victories have been with a clean sheet.

Head to Head News

Thee two of these traded away wins in League Two last season but the home defeat that Stevenage suffered last term is their only defeat in their previous eight games against Crewe. Overall they hold a W5 D2 L1 record against the Railwaymen. Four of their five wins over Crewe have been by a one-goal margin only.

Top Betting Tips

It should be Stevenage all the way here and the visitors winning by just a one-goal margin has some big appeal at 10/3 to continue their head to head trend there. It’s not happening for Crewe at the moment, while Boro are back in decent shape after a little blip.
