Wycombe are an entertaining bunch to turn up and watch. They score for fun most of the time but aren’t all that great at the back either. So you can usually be guaranteed some goals with a Wycombe match. More of the same could be on the cards as they play host to Barnet on Saturday at Adams Park. The Bees are just struggling a bit at the moment with three defeats in their last four and this could be another tough road game for them. Wycombe are odds on at 10/11 to pick up the win, with Barnet at 16/5.
Wycombe Form
All but two of Wycombe’s eight league games this season have seen fewer than three goals. Other than that, it has been exciting goal action stuff all the way. Wycombe are W2 D1 L2 at home and they have the scoring power to match up with the best sides in the division. At the back, well, not so much. They have scored three goals in a game on four separate occasions in the league this season while netting two exactly in three others. When you have power like Adebayo Akinfenwa and Craig Mackail-Smith you are going to be alright.
Barnet Form
The Bees are not buzzing at the moment with a poor D1 L3 record in their last four games. The three defeats in that sequence all happened by a 2-1 scoreline. Away from home, they have collected only the one win in a W1 D2 L2 record so far but they have scored in all but one of those games. The thing about their away form is that they really haven’t met anyone of note yet and so with Wycombe in eighth at the moment, this is their biggest challenge out on the road so far.
Head to Head News
These two traded away wins last season and Wycombe have failed to win any of their last three at home against the Bees (D1 L2) in League Two. They have just two home wins in eight previous League Two games at Adams Park against Barnet (D5 L1). Three of the last four meetings between these two have been settled by a 2-0 scoreline and that has been the scoreline in both of Wycombe’s last two wins over them.
Top Betting Tips
Just because Wycombe aren’t great at the back, there has to be value in both teams to score in this one at 8/11 with Paddy Power. Wycombe should win this with the Bees out of form but screaming out for value at 7/1 is a Wycombe 2-1 correct score. Barnet’s last three defeats have been by that exact scoreline and four of Wycombe’s five wins have been by one goal.
