It is funny how quickly momentum can change. After their long unbeaten streak from the start of the season, things have turned just a little bit sour for Exeter with back to back defeats. They get a home game on the weekend to try and stop the rot in as they welcome Morecambe who have only managed the one win in their last six league outings and who are the joint second-lowest scorers this season. Exeter are 13/20 to get back on track with a win in this one with the visitors at a big 4/1 price.

Exeter Form:
Across their opening eight games, Exeter posted a stunning W7 D1 record. So it has been a surprise that they have lost their last two back to back. After losing at Coventry last weekend to have their winning form snapped, they couldn’t hold out against league leaders Notts County on Tuesday night as they were pounded 3-0 on home soil by the new league leaders. So back to back defeats and no goals. Can they stop the rot? Still, their home form reads W4 D1 so there’s no hitting the panic button just yet. Three of their four home wins this season have been by a 1-0 scoreline.
Morecambe Form:
The Shrimps are floundering at the wrong end of the table with just the two victories to their name this season. They have posted a W2 D4 L4 record overall and out on the road, they are still looking for their first win of the season (D3 L2). So they certainly can’t be trusted out on their travels. They have alternated between a draw and a defeat in their last four away games, so if that trend continues they would draw this. They are just having trouble keeping the ball out of the back of their net but did a decent defensive job in holding out for a 0-0 draw with Luton in midweek.
Head to Head News:
Exeter won both meetings with Morecambe easily last season, scoring three goals in both of the meetings. That extended their unbeaten streak of form over the Shrimps to seven, with three wins and four draws in that head to head sequence. Three of the last four at St Park have ended in a 1-1 draw.
Top Betting Tips:
Exeter are value to get themselves back on track by winning this. Morecambe are a bit flimsy at the back at the best of times and it’s really hard to imagine that they will take back to back clean sheets after blanking Luton in the week. Exeter to win and probably by nothing too much more than 1-0 scoreline.
