Graham Potter’s job is still in jeopardy, as the 2022-23 English Premier League season continues Saturday, March 11. Chelsea head to King Power Stadium in Leicester, so let’s take a closer look.
Leicester – Chelsea Betting Tip, Prediction & Odds (11.3.2023)
Both Leicester and Chelsea have struggled a lot over the last few weeks, so Saturday’s clash has a lot on the table for either side. While the Foxes have slipped into the relegation battle, the Blues are in danger of losing the pace in the race for the European places.
Leicester vs. Chelsea: Initial Situation
Leicester are 15th in the EPL with 24 points (W7, D3, L15) and a 36:43 goal difference, just a couple of points above the relegation zone. On the other side, Chelsea are tenth with 34 points (W9, D7, L9), trailing fifth-placed Liverpool by eight points.
Leicester Stats & Form
The Foxes are on a four-game losing streak in all competitions following Saturday’s 1-0 road defeat against Southampton in the Premier League. It was their third consecutive league loss, and the Foxes haven’t scored in that three-game stretch. Leicester have only won one of their previous six home contests in the league while tallying four losses in the process.
Manager Brendan Rodgers desperately needs more from his strikers. Kelechi Iheanacho, Patson Daka, and Jamie Vardy have combined for just 13 goals so far this season. Midfielder James Maddison leads the way for the Foxes with nine goals and five assists, while winger Harvey Barnes has eight goals and three dishes on his season tally.
Chelsea Stats & Form
Last Saturday, the Blues beat Leeds 1-0 at home. It was their first win in six league games, as the Blues have dropped two of their previous five matches in the EPL while drawing three. Chelsea are having a terrible season and are winless in ten straight outings on the road in all competitions. During that stretch, the Blues have recorded three draws and a whopping seven defeats.
Midfielder Kai Havertz is Chelsea’s leading scorer in the Premier League this season. He’s bagged five goals in 23 appearances, while winger Raheem Sterling has scored four goals in 18 matches. Centre-back Wesley Fofana scored the winner against Leeds, and the former Leicester player should be in the lineup once more this weekend.
Leicester – Chelsea: Head-to-Head
The Blues have won three of their last four encounters with the Foxes. In their first meeting of the season, Chelsea outlasted Leicester 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues played with ten men for 60 minutes, and Raheem Sterling made a difference with a couple of goals.
Leicester – Chelsea Odds
The bookmakers listed Chelsea as favorites to grab three points, and the odds are quite tempting at 2.00 on BetVictor Sportsbook. We shouldn’t see a high-scoring affair at King Power Stadium. The Under 3.5 Goals pays just 1.30 at bet365 Sportsbook, and Both Teams to Score YES sits at 1.88 on Unibet Sportsbook.
The Blues have struggled to score under Graham Potter, while their defense has been solid for most of the season. I’ve already mentioned the Foxes’ recent struggles attacking-wise, so the Under 2.5 Goals at 1.88 on bet365 would be my best Leicester vs. Chelsea betting pick. On paper, Chelsea are a better team than Leicester. However, with both teams playing in poor form, I would stay away from the side bet. As I’ve said above, the stake is huge in this match, and both teams will take a patient approach.
