There is a great top-two showdown on Tuesday night in League Two as leaders Notts County make the trip to St James Park to face the Grecians. County have been storming along with a five match winning streak going and took over at the top on the weekend, as Exeter had their superb streak snapped as they crashed out at Coventry. That leaves Exeter with a tough game to try and get back to winning ways in. Exeter though are 11/10 favourites at bet365 on home soil, with the visiting County at 12/5.
Exeter Form
So Exeter’s superb six match winning streak came to an end on the weekend as they were toppled 2-0 at Coventry. That was some streak of form that they had put together and now the question remains, can they get back to winning ways immediately? Exter have won all four of their games on home soil this season and haven’t shipped a single goal there either. Three of their four wins at St James Park have been by a 1-0 scoreline. The loss on the weekend will have been a blow to them, but they can show some mettle by winning this and taking back the top spot.
Notts County Form
County are the form team in the division now with an eight-match unbeaten streak of form going and wins in seven of those games. They destroyed Lincoln at Meadow Lane on the weekend 4-1, the second time this season that they have scored four goals in a game. Away from home this season they have posted a W3 L1 record but are on a three-match winning streak away from home, their last two away wins coming by a 1-0 scoreline. There’s really not much to split these two at all.
Head to Head News
Things are even between the two of them in the last four meetings at St James Park with one win each and two draws. Last season there was an away win for County posted in this corresponding fixture and they are unbeaten in their last three trips south to face Exeter (W1 D2). So they are offering some value to at least not lose this one. County boss the overall head to head in all competitions with a 17-8 lead with 19 draws.
Top Betting Tips
There is just so little to split these. Both are defensively solid and are as good as each other going forward. So the 1-1 draw in the correct score market has to have some decent appeal in this one as well as the draw in the match outright at 11/2. This should be a good game but both will probably err on the side of caution to avoid defeat.
