EFL Cup 4-Fold – Wednesday Night

There are five games taking place on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup with Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all in action on what promises to be an intriguing night of football. In this preview I’ll be taking a look at four of the matches and building you a 4-fold bet to take advantage of. All of the odds in this preview will be provided by Ladbrokes and are accurate at time of writing.

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest

Chelsea were a little disappointing against Arsenal last weekend and were slightly fortunate to hold on for a 0-0 draw following David Luiz’s late red card. Antonio Conte doesn’t have the biggest squad to play with this season and I’m sure that the EFL Cup will be at the bottom of his list of priorities so I fancy Forest to give them a good game in this one. Despite that, I’m backing Chelsea’s quality to win through here, but I fancy Forest will give them a scare or two.

Chelsea to win and BTTS – YES – 15/8

Arsenal vs Doncaster

Arsenal will have been buoyed by their performance against Chelsea, especially considering neither Alexis Sanchez nor Mesut Ozil started the game. On Wednesday night they come up against a Doncaster Rovers side who are struggling in League One this season. Arsene Wenger won the FA Cup last season and he might well fancy a crack at the EFL Cup this time around, so I’m backing a big Arsenal win in this one.

Arsenal (-2) – 4/6

Manchester United vs Burton Albion

Manchester United picked up yet another 4-0 victory last weekend against Everton, thanks to three very late goals. They start this game as huge favourites (1/8) and there isn’t any value in just betting on them for the straight up win. Burton Albion find themselves down in 19th place in the Championship and should really be no match for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side.

Manchester United to win and BTTS – NO – 8/13

West Bromwich Albion vs Manchester City

The only all Premier League affair of the night takes place at The Hawthorns as West Bromwich Albion host Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s City side have been in irresistible form recently, scoring 15 goals in their last 3 games without reply and even though I expect the manager to make a raft of changes for this game, they will still be high on confidence. City have a superb squad and can bring in the likes of Leroy Sane, Danilo, John Stones, Yaya Toure and Raheem Sterling for starts and so I’m going for a City win in this one.

Manchester City to win – 3/10

Total 4-Fold – 9/1 (Ladbrokes)
