The Premier League continues on Saturday following a week of European qualifiers and EFL Cup football and there are a number of intriguing clashes this weekend. The biggest game takes place on Sunday as Liverpool host Arsenal, in what promises to be a hugely entertaining clash between two sides who are setup to favour attack over defence. In this preview I’ll be taking a look at the Saturday matches though, starting with the clash at Dean Court.
Bournemouth vs Manchester City
Bournemouth are yet to score a goal or pick up a point so far this season in the Premier League and things aren’t going to get any easier when they come up against title favourites, Manchester City in the early game on Saturday. Despite dropping points last time out against Everton, Manchester City still dominated that game, even though they played the majority of it with ten men. I’m backing them to pick up a big win this weekend and don’t be surprised to see them score three or four.
Manchester City (-1) – 8/11 (Ladbrokes)
Crystal Palace vs Swansea City
Two teams who have struggled so far this season meet at Selhurst Park on Saturday as Crystal Palace host Swansea City. Neither of these two sides have scored or picked up any points this season, but Crystal Palace showed signs of improvement against Liverpool last time around and also picked up a win over high flying Ipswich Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. Palace have some excellent players at their disposal and I think they will win this one.
Crystal Palace to win – 10/11 (Ladbrokes)
Huddersfield Town vs Southampton
Huddersfield Town have surprised everyone by winning both of their opening two games without conceding after starting season as the favourites to finish bottom of the league. They come up against an unbeaten Southampton team on Saturday and I think Huddersfield’s luck will run out here, so I’m backing the Saints to pick up a comfortable win in this one.
Southampton to win – 21/20 (Ladbrokes)
Watford vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Watford have impressed everyone so far this season and new manager Marco Silva has his side playing some lovely stuff. I’m expecting that to continue against a Brighton side who have struggled so far this season, losing both of their opening games. Brighton look short of Premier League quality and it could be a long season for fans of the South Coast side.
Watford to win – 10/11 (Ladbrokes)
Manchester United vs Leicester City
Manchester United have been the best team in the league so far this season, winning both of their games 4-0 and looking dominant in every area of the pitch. This weekend they come up against a Leicester City side who have looked solid this season, narrowly losing out to Arsenal before beating Brighton and Sheffield United. It’ll be tougher for United this weekend, but they have too much quality for this Leicester side.
Manchester United to win – 3/10 (Ladbrokes)
