This is an early clash between two teams who were promoted from the Championship last season. Huddersfield started their Premier League campaign in the best way possible last weekend, with a great 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Newcastle were on the wrong end of a 2-0 game against Tottenham and based on last weekend I think they will take a little while to get going.

Huddersfield
NewcastleBoth of these two will be wary of getting involved in the relegation scrap and although we are in August, they know every point is vital this season. Should Huddersfield win this one, a perfect start of six points from two games would give them a huge boost in confidence.
Huddersfield Form
Life in the Premier League could not have started any better for Huddersfield and they will look to take the momentum from that game forward with them. Their victory over Crystal Palace was impressive and should they continue that form they have a great chance of escaping relegation and remaining in the Premier League.
Huddersfield look like they are going to play without fear in the Premier League, much like they did in the Championship. That will cause them a few problems I am sure, but when it works they are going to be fantastic to watch and score a lot of goals, despite being one of the teams who are tipped to struggle.
I have high hopes that Huddersfield can survive this season and after seeing them play last weekend, I was thrilled with their start. They will continue to attack and at home against teams of a similar ability, they are going to cause their opposition a lot of problems.
Newcastle Form
Newcastle were expected to be the club who does the best out of the three new arrivals in the league. However, out of the three I also think they have had the world build up. That showed in their opening 2-0 loss to Tottenham last weekend, they look to be three or four players short of where they need to be.
Manager Rafa Benitez has admitted to missing out on targets throughout the summer so the money is there to spend, but they don’t have long left and time is ticking. Should they lose this game then the pressure will pile onto Benitez to spend the funds available and he will be very busy before the deadline closes.
This is going to be an important two weeks for Newcastle, with big decisions coming both on and off the pitch. They need to play better and pick up some points in their upcoming games, but they also need to make some signings off the field to strengthen their squad and give them a better chance of survival.
Team News
Steve Mounie was the main man last weekend in Huddersfield’s attack and after a big money move in the summer for him, Huddersfield will have been thrilled with his performance. I can’t wait to see more of him and if he keeps up his play from last weekend, he is going to be key to the survival chances of his club. Elsewhere, I don’t think Huddersfield will make a change, they have no need to and a repeat of last weekend will be enough for them to win this game.
Newcastle will be without captain Jonjo Shelvey after his sending off last weekend. He was very stupid and gave his team no chance in the game after stamping on Dele Alli. When you are struggling in the Premier League, the last thing you need is bad discipline, his team mates are going to have to show a lot more this week.

I am happy to back Huddersfield to win this game after being really impressive last weekend. They have enough attacking flair in the team to create chances and with Steve Mounie picking up his first two Premier League goals last weekend, I am excited to see him score more in this one.
I am going to back Mounie to score the first goal in this game after his performance last weekend, he can be backed at 11/2 with Paddy Power and represents value.
Elsewhere I am going to keep it simple and back Huddersfield to win the game, which is priced at 7/5 with Ladbrokes and Coral. They are going to be much better at home, they have a struggling and not quite ready Newcastle coming into town, and I think Huddersfield are a great bet.
