Morecambe have started strongly in League Two this season with four points on the board from their opening two games. Granted they have not really been tested by one of the better side in the league so far. So this will be a sterner test for them as they take on Swindon who are sat level on points with them, with exactly the same amount of goals scored and conceded as well.
Hopefully that doesn’t mean that it will be played out to a dull draw in what will be just the third league match ever between the two of them. So this game has the feel of being a bit of an unknown. Swindon though are 13/10 at Sky Bet on the road to claim the win, with Morecambe at 15/8.
Morecambe Form
The Shrimps opened with 2-1 home win over Cheltenham and then followed that up with a 1-1 draw at Lincoln last weekend. Will they be able to produce again at the Globe Arena? They have never won a game against Swindon and after their struggles through League Two Season last term, punters may have trouble finding the confidence to back them. After all, the Shrimps won just six of their home games last season in League Two, losing thirteen. They have won just one of their last eight on home soil and they look as if they are going to struggle again defensively.
Swindon Form
Swindon took a great win over Carlisle on the opening weekend of action and then were frustrated in a 1-1 home draw with Exeter. So it’s back out on their travels for the West Country outfit who took a tumble from League One last term, where they won just the four away games. But it has been a bright enough start from them this season to suggest that they could perhaps make a decent fist of things in this game.
Head to Head News
There have been just the three previous games between these two and Swindon have won them all. The last time they met was in the 2011/12 League Two season with Swindon winning 1-0 away and 3-0 at home. The only other meeting was a 2006 FA Cup tie which Swindon won 1-0.
Top Betting Tips
Swindon may have enough to pull out the win in this one as they do have the head to head form going against the Shrimps. It is likely that goals are going to be at a premium so look under 2.5 goals for a great price of even money at bet365 but there is enough meat on the Swindon bone to back them in the match outright.
