Yeovil will want to quickly forget their opener last weekend as they conceded eight goals against Luton. It really can’t get any worse for them so will they be able to find a bit of solace for themselves on home soil as they play host to Accrington? Accrington were only a mid table side last season in Lague Two but they will have some confidence under their belt after having opened with a good home win in their new campaign last weekend.
Obviously because of Yeovil’s heavily loss last weekend, Accrington are 6/5 favourites at Sky Bet to win this. That leaves the Glovers a big 9/4 price on home soil. Just because Yeovil lost so heavily last weekend it is fascinatingly interesting to see what kind of fight that they will be putting up in this one. Are they going to be just as vulnerable or will they show a bit of steel? There is actually pressure sitting on the shoulders of Accrington who will just be expected to go out and win.
Yeovil Form
It is not as if Yeovil had a good season last term, certainly not out on the road, but they didn’t need that result last weekend as they lost 8-2 against Luton. The Glovers put a W8 D8 L7 record on the board at home last season and they will be hoping to build some form at Huish Park. They managed to win just one of their last eight home games last season though and punters are going to have a very tough time trusting them. As a positive, they only conceded an average of 1.04 goals per game at home last term.
Accrington Form
Accrington finished 13th in last season’s League Two table but they were really strong over the second half of the season and did put together a great fifteen match unbeaten streak at one point. Away from home, they posted a W7 D7 L9 record and they lost just one of their last nine away games. Stanley opened with a good 3-1 home win over Colchester last weekend, killing off the game by going 3-0 up before the 65th-minute mark. It suggests that they may have the goals to land the win here.
Head to Head News
There is not much history to look back on between these two. Just the six previous matches have been played and four of those have been in the last two seasons of League Two. The record from those four league games are actually dead even at one win each and two draws. Last season there were two 1-1 draws played out between them. Yeovil holds a W2 D1 record on home soil from their three previous games against Stanley. Half of the six previous matches over all competitions have been drawn.
Top Betting Tips
Things have been pretty tight between these two but it is hard to concede eight goals in a match and turn around and hope for a victory. Accrington did well in front of goal last weekend to record a win and they can do the same here. It is probably worth backing both teams to score in this one though, but Stanley should just come out on top.
