The 2019 Wimbledon Championships continue with ladies’ singles semifinal matches on Thursday. The seven-time Wimbledon champion and 11th seed Serena Williams takes on the World No. 54 Barbora Strycova who’s the most pleasant surprise of this year’s tournament.

Serena Williams News & Form
After a great battle in three sets, Serena Williams managed to outlast Alison Riske in the quarterfinal. Serena played very well, hitting 19 aces while recording 49 winners and 27 unforced errors. On the other hand, Serena couldn’t save any of five break points which is certainly a troublesome fact for the seven-time champ.
Serena won her last title at Wimbledon in 2016, and she’s a reigning vice-champion, losing to Angelique Kerber in the championship match last year. Serena has a 97-11 record at Wimbledon, losing just one semifinal match back in 2000.
Barbora Strycova News & Form
The 33-year old Strycova is playing at the highest level at this tournament, and she’s already made a few huge upsets. Barbora eliminated the World No. 4 Kiki Bertens in the round of 32 and the World No. 21 Elise Mertens in the round of 16, while Strycova upset Johanna Konta and home fans in the quarterfinal.
Strycova came to London with a 13-14 record in 2019. She exited in the first round in the first two grand slams of the season, but Barbora obviously found the right rhythm at Wimbledon where she has a 21-15 record in her career. Strycova reached the quarterfinal at Wimbledon in 2014, and this will be her first semifinal match.
Williams vs Strycova Head to Head
Serena Williams won all her three meetings with Strycova including a straight-set victory in the second round of the 2012 Wimbledon. Serena has never dropped a set against Strycova.

Our Williams vs Strycova Wimbledon 2019 Betting Tip
Serena Williams is still searching for her 24th Grand Slam trophy to equal Margaret Court’s record, and this tournament looks like a perfect opportunity. Therefore, I think Serena will overcome Barbora Strycova even though Strycova could be a tricky rival.
Barbora is feeling well on fast surfaces, but her service will be a huge problem against Serena Williams. If Serena serves as she did in the quarterfinal, she will win this match in straight sets, so I suggest you take Serena to cover a 1.5-set handicap at 4/6 with Coral.
