Spain U21 vs Germany U21 Game Preview
Spain and Germany will meet in the replay of the previous European Under-21 Championship when the Germans won 1-0, and La FuriaRoja will be looking for revenge here. Both teams deserved to make it to the final and undoubtedly, we’re going to watch a quite exciting game with a potential to produce a bunch of goals.
Spain U21 Team News and Latest Form
Spain reached their second straight U21 European Championship Final even though they lost their first game of the tournament. The Spaniards were 1-0 down against France in the semis but turned on the gas and secured a comfortable 4-1 victory.
Marc Roca tied the game in the 28th minute, Mikel Oyarzabal put Spain ahead from the penalty spot in the dying moments of the first half and DaniOlmo scored early in the second half. Substitute Borja Mayoral put the result beyond doubt in the 67th minute.
Head coach Luis de la Fuente found a winning formula with Marc Roca and Fabián Ruiz in midfield, and Dani Ceballos, Pablo Fornals, Dani Olmo, and Mikel Oyarzabal in the attack. Jesús Vallejo and Júnior Firpo returned to the starting eleven, and although Firpo conceded a penalty, he answered with an excellent display in the attack.
Germany U21 Team News and Latest Form
Germany finished the group stage in the first position with seven points after defeating Denmark and Serbia, and head coach Stefan Kuntz made two changes in the semi-finals duel with Romania; Maximilian Mittelstädt replaced the suspended Benjamin Henrichs at left back, and Nadiem Amiri started in Marco Richter’s place.
Amiri opened the scoring against the Little Tricolours, but the Germans conceded another penalty, the fourth at the tournament while a sloppy defence saw Romania going 2-1 up at the half time. Gian-Luca Waldschmidt, the top scorer at this European Under-21 Championship, equalised from the penalty spot and then put Germany 3-2 ahead in the 90th minute before Amiri’s free-kick made it 4-2 in added time.
Benjamin Henrichs could make it back to the starting line-up at left-back while it will be hard for Kuntz to leave Nadiem Amiri out of the starting eleven. Arne Maier could step in for Florian Neuhaus considering Spain’s strength in midfield so that Kuntz might opt for a more defensive strategy.
Spain U21 vs Germany U21 Head to Head
Spain and Germany have faced seven times before and La Furia Roja are leading the all-time H2H duels with four wins to two while one match was without a winner. The Spaniards were on a three-game unbeaten streak against Germany, but the Germans won the latest clash in the final of the previous European Under-21 Championship. Mitchell Weiser scored the winner.
Spain U21 vs Germany U21 Betting Tip
The odds on Spain dropped from 11/8 to 6/7 as the bookies were impressed with Spain’s performance against France in the semi-finals. La Furia Roja were also favourites two years ago in Poland, but Germany beat them and considering it is the final, I am not going to predict a winner here. Instead, I am going with goals, and given that odds on both teams to score are a bit lower (2/3), my bet is BTTS and Over 2.5 goals at 21/20 with bet365.

Reason for this bet is that Germany conceded at least a goal in each of their previous four games at the tournament while Spain kept the clean sheet only once, scoring even nine goals in the last two. The previous H2H tilt ended 1-0 for Germany and I don’t think we will have another low-scoring affair here.
