David De Gea has been Manchester United’s best performer for many years. The Spanish international goalkeeper had a difficult start to life at Old Trafford when he joined from Atletico Madrid but has nice gone to become one of the world’s best goalkeepers.
He has attracted attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs and was once very close to joining Real Madrid. However, could the 2018/19 Premier League campaign but the last time we see De Gea in a Manchester United shirt?
Contract Talks
De Gea is about to enter the final year of his current contract at Manchester United. He is yet to sign a new deal and there have been reports he has rejected the latest offer from the Red Devils.
With just one year remaining on his deal, Manchester United know they risk losing De Gea for nothing if they hold on to the player for next season. Therefore, they may be willing to listen to offers this summer and there will be no shortage of interested parties.
Paris Saint-Germain
Paris Saint-Germain won the French league with ease this season and have guaranteed themselves another crack at the Champions League. This is something Manchester United do not have and De Gea will be keen to continue playing in Europe’s top club competition.
With Gianluigi Buffon now 41 years old and Alphonse Areola still to convince as a PSG number one, now could be the perfect time to make a move for De Gea.
At 28 years of age, De Gea has several more seasons to play in top-flight football and could become the PSG goalkeeper for the foreseeable future. With many goalkeepers performing at the top until their mid-30’s, the Spaniard would be a sound investment.
You can back De Gea to move from Old Trafford to the Parc des Princes at 11/4 with Unibet in the summer transfer window.
