As the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup reaches the final round of group matches, we now have an idea of which teams can qualify for the quarter-final.
Canada look good in Group A and sit top on 4 points from their 2 matches played. Costa Rica are also on 4 points but sit in second place on goal difference. Honduras and French Guiana both have 1 point each and really need a victory in their last group game to progress.
Honduras face Canada in their final match in Group A, knowing a point will leave them with just 2 points in total from their 3 games and this is unlikely to be enough to see them qualify. Even if Canada fail to win this match, with 4 points to their name they should progress but will want to top the group with a win a have an easier draw in the next round.

Canada Form
Canada will be delighted to find themselves top of Group A after 2 games played and have looked very good in attack. Alphonso Davies has arguably been the star of the tournament, scoring 3 goals in 2 games.
However, Canada continue to struggle defensively and having taken a 3-0 lead against French Guiana, allowed them back into the match by conceding 2 goals before adding a fourth themselves. The same happened against Costa Rica and Canada took the lead only to allow the opposition back into the match.
Canada have kept just 1 clean sheet in their last 15 games and that came in a 3-0 win over Mauritania.
Honduras Form
This was always going to be a tough group for Honduras and having lost 1-0 to Costa Rica in their opening match, they knew a win against French Guiana was a must.
However, they could not break down the French Guiana defence and although there may be repercussions for French Guiana for fielding former French international Florent Malouda, it was not a good performance by Honduras.
Scoring goals has been a problem in this tournament and they are yet to find the back of the net. In fact, Honduras have failed to score in 3 of their last 4 games.
Team News
Canada are waiting on the fitness of Alphonso Davies as the 16-year-old forward was withdrawn from the match against Costa Rica with an ankle injury. Milan Borjan played superbly in goal against Costa Rica and will be key for the remainder of the tournament.
Honduras need to start scoring goals and the MLS trio of Romell Quioto, Alberth Elis and Boniek Garcia will be charged with that task.
Top Betting Tips
Canada have been playing better football than Honduras in this tournament but start the match as the outsiders, priced at 2/1 with Ladbrokes. Considering the form of the two teams in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup it is a surprise to see Honduras at 7/5 to win the game.
If Canada are without Alphonso Davies, they may attempt to keep things tight at the back and claim a point. Honduras have been struggling for goals and Canada’s goalkeeper has been in good form. You can get 13/2 with Ladbrokes for the match to finish 0-0.
However, if you do not wish to bet on the correct score market the better option would be to go for the draw and under 2.5 goals. This is available at 13/5 with Ladbrokes.
