Crystal Palace Struggle to Keep Wan-Bissaka
Aaron Wan-Bissaka made his professional debut for Crystal Palace in 2017/18 having previously featured on the substitutes bench.
Having started his career as a right or left winger in the Crystal Palace academy, Wan-Bissaka moved to the wing-back position towards the end of the 2016/17 campaign and never looked back. Having remained patient for his chance in the first team, Wan-Bissaka made his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in 2018.
He went on to impress against Manchester United and Chelsea and Wan-Bissaka quickly moved up the England under age teams, earning a call-up to the under-21 squad.

Wan-Bissaka has enjoyed a tremendous 2018/19 campaign for Crystal Palace and has become one of the first names on the team sheet for Roy Hodgson. Speaking about the right-back, Hodgson said, ‘What I like about him is that he continues to work hard at his game, and the professionalism he shows,’ before continuing, ‘And the fact he has kept his feet so firmly on the ground when a lot of good things are being written or said about him, and there is the usual speculation when you have a good player, at a club at our level in the table’.

Wan-Bissaka has made the right-back position his own at Crystal Palace and not only is he an assured defender, he also makes telling contributions in attack. He may only have one assist to his name in the Premier League this season but he continues to get forward down the right flank and contributes to Crystal Palace’s attacking play.
The combination of youth, defensive strength, pace and attacking ability make Wan-Bissaka a target for bigger clubs and at just 21 years of age, his best years are still ahead of him.
At the time of writing, Borussia Dortmund are the bookies favourites to sign Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window at 4/1 with BetVictor. He could follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho, who has been a major success since his move from the Premier League to the German club.
Valencia Out – Wan-Bissaka In?
However, with the news that Manchester United have opted not to extend Antonio Valencia’s contract for another year, the Red Devils are going to be left short in the right-back position. Diogo Dalot was brought in by Jose Mourinho last year but has yet to establish himself in the starting XI.
The Portuguese full-back may even be employed further forward, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done at times this season. That would make way for Wan-Bissaka to come in to the Manchester United team at right-back and for both players to get game time.
Wan-Bissaka is 16/1 with BetVictor to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window and would join Luke Shaw to make a formidable full-back line-up at Old Trafford.
