Who Will Shine on PGA and European Tour in 2019?
With 2018 behind us, the players on the PGA and European Tour will be looking forward to 2019 and the opportunities which lie in wait.
Tiger Woods to Win a Major
Many eyes will be on Tiger Woods, who made a strong comeback from injury last year and will surely be aiming to win his first major title since 2008. The American looks to have put his fitness problems behind him and the bookmakers believe he has a great chance of winning a major tournament in 2019.
You can back Tiger Woods to win a major in 2019 at 7/2 with William Hill. Woods won the Tour Championship and will be desperate to record his first major tournament victory having remained on 14 wins for 11 years. You can also get 25/1 for Woods to win two majors in 2019.
Rahm on the Rise
However, there are plenty of other players who will be eyeing major tournament success this year, one of which is Jon Rahm. The Spaniard defeated Woods in the Ryder Cup and this will be something he will use as a motivational tool throughout the year.
Having defeated Woods, Rahm went on to win the Hero World Challenge and in 2018 he finished in the top four at both the US Masters and US PGA. Expect to see Rahm challenging for the major titles in 2019 and he is on offer at 7/2 with William Hill.
Rahm has won the Irish Open and this could pave the way for victory at the Open Championship and he is available at 22/1 with Betfair to succeed at Royal Portrush.
PGA Tour Money List
Looking at names which are often ignored when it comes to the big events, Tony Finau could be in for a huge year in 2019.
Between weeks 26 and 52 in the official world rankings, Finau went from 31st to 10th place, with only Bryson DeChambeau making a bigger improvement. He finished 7th on the PGA Tour Money List and could easily make improvements on that ranking in 2019. You can back the American at 20/1 with Unibet to finish top of the PGA Tour Money List this year.
DeChambeau Delight
As highlighted above, another man who made huge strides in terms of his world ranking in the latter half of 2018 was Bryson DeChambeau. He climbed from 22nd to 5th place and will surely be targeting a big year in 2019.
The young American won four PGA Tour events in 2018, including the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in November. He has yet to produce the goods on the major stage but that could be about to change in 2019. DeChambeau is 8/1 with SportingBet to win a major this year.
