Kempton King George VI Chase 2018 – Horse Name – Odds (Bookmaker):
Mite Bite – 5/2 (William Hill) – The Nicky Henderson trained 9 year old is the defending champion in the race and headlines a very strong field. Despite not impressing in his most recent run at Haydock, Mite Bite is a very attractive proposition in this race and tends to save his best form for Kempton.
Waiting Patiently – 9/2 (888 Sport) – The Ruth Jefferson trained Irish colt has impressed throughout his fledgling career and is unbeaten over chases. Despite his most impressive showings coming over 2 and a half miles Waiting Patiently looks to have all the credentials to feature heavily in this race.
Politologue– 5/1 (Bet 365) – Perennial winner Politologue is Paul Nicholls’ prize charge for the race and the French 7 year old comes into the back of this following an impressive win at Ascot last month. Whilst this is a longer trip, he looks to have chasing credentials and should be well in the running here.
Bristol De Mai –11/2 (Bet Bright) – Nigel Twiston-Davies’s key horse Bristol De Mai is blessed with bags of chasing experience and has placed in his last 3 outings – all of which have come over 3 miles or more. His win at Haydock last month (beating Mite Bite) is an indicator that he could be the one to watch here.
Thistlecrack – 6/1 (Betsson) – Colin Tizzard’s Thistlecrack is one of the oldest horses in the race but always features heavily in this company. Despite not being able to replicate the record breaking form of last season as yet this term, Thistlecrack is a seriously strong horse and will enjoy going up in trip here.
