About Australia

Dutch boss Bert van Marwijk took over as head coach back in January, with the former Borussia Dortmund boss perhaps still looking for his best starting eleven. The likes of Aaron Mooy and Tom Rogic provide skill and creativity in midfield, while both Tim Cahill and Mile Jedinak offer huge experience.

About Peru

PeruPeru defeated New Zealand over two legs in order to qualify for the Finals, forming part of their unbeaten record over recent months. The South American’s have been further boosted by the fact that Captain Paolo Guerrero will be allowed to play in Russia following his drugs ban, while the likes of Jefferson Farfan and Andre Carillo provide quality elsewhere. Recent wins over Croatia, Iceland and Saudi Arabia demonstrate their credentials in Russia.

About Denmark

DenmarkA hat-trick from Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen helped Denmark defeat the Republic of Ireland in their playoff clash, with the European nation looking to make an impact in Russia, having missed out in Brazil four years ago. Manager Åge Hareide has a talented squad, however the likes of Eriksen, Andreas Christensen and Kasper Dolberg are perhaps the standout names. Former Arsenal man Nicklas Bentdner misses out through injury.

Group C Preview & Predictions

It is difficult to look beyond France topping Group C after their three matches, especially if they can get off to a winning start against Australia in Kazan. The 1998 champions lost out to Germany at the quarter final stage four years ago, with Deschamps undoubtedly hoping that his side can go further this time around. It looks like being a battle for second place already, with the fact that Peru are on a 10-match unbeaten run perhaps giving them the edge.
