Tottenham
Tottenham sit in 5th place in the Premier League, 1 point outside of the Champions League places with 12 games still to play and this will be their third game in a row against a direct rival in the top six. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have 49 points from their opening 26 games and are unbeaten in their last 10 games in all competitions. Harry Kane has scored a staggering 31 goals in all competitions this term and the England man simply cannot stop scoring – including a last minute equaliser against Liverpool on Sunday.
Arsenal
The doom and gloom at Arsenal has lifted in the past week with the arrivals of Henrikh Mhkitariyan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and their 5-1 thumping of Everton fresh in the memory. The Gunners remain 6th – 5 points off the top 4 (with Chelsea still to play this week) in the Premier League and have work to do to be playing Champions League football next term but they are always a threat. Alexandre Lacazette is still struggling to hold down a consistent place in the starting XI but the Frenchman will be keen to add to his tally of 9 goals for the season here.
Head to Head
The North London Derby is one of the bitterest rivalries in English football between two clubs steeped in tradition. Arsenal hold the lead in the head to head record with 81 wins compared to 62 for Spurs whilst the local rivals have shared 51 draws. Their meeting earlier in the season was a humbling one for Spurs, who lost 2-0 at the hands of their rivals thanks to goals from Shkodran Mustafi and the now departed Alexis Sanchez, back in November.
