Chesterfield are sweating bullets at the moment as they are fully embroiled in that big scrap for survival in the foot of the table. After a couple of wins, they slipped back to losing ways last time out. Crawley will give them a tough game as well because they have hit some very nice form with five wins in six and have their sights on the top seven now. Can they keep their positive momentum going?

Chesterfield Form:
The Spireites have been showing some fight recently with two wins in their last three league games, having beating league leaders Luton and fellow strugglers Yeovil. That hasn’t been enough to ease their relegation concerns though as they start the weekend just one place above the drop zone. On home soil, Chesterfield are W1 D1 L1 in their last three so it’s hard to judge just what they are going to come up with really. If you look back a bit further though since the end of October the Spireites are W4 D2 L2 at home which makes for far better reading. Only three teams in the league have picked up fewer points in their last eight games than Chesterfield have and the Spireites boast the worst defence in the league now. There no real consistency from them but each of their last four home games have gone under 2.5 goals.
Crawley Form:
Crawley have quietly been rolling along very well since early December and they have won five of their last six games played in the league. If they keep up this momentum they could easily get themselves in the play off picture. Three of their last four league wins have been by a 2-1 scoreline which is a good option for the correct score market in this one, and they have won three of their last four on the road, all by a one-goal margin. They are battling really well at the moment and took a win at high-flyers Notts County in their last away game which saws a lot about them. Overall Crawley are W6 D4 L5 this season on their travels and no team in the division has collected more points over their respective last eight league games than Crawley have. They are without a clean sheet in any of their last seven away games, but they have scored in each of their last four on the road and will be competitive.
Chesterfield v Crawley Head to Head News:
This will only be the fourth meeting between Crawley and Chesterfield. They contested their first ever League Two meeting earlier in the season when Chesterfield pulled a 2-0 away win out of their bag of tricks. That leaves them unbeaten overall from their three previous fixtures against Crawley with a W2 D1 record. During that sequence of games, the Spireites have conceded just the one goal.
Top Chesterfield v Crawley Betting Tips:
Crawley have been doing very well at the moment both home and away and they should be good enough to avoid defeat against the struggling Spireites. A recent win at promotion-chasing Notts County shows what they can do on the road. Away win.
