Swansea City engineered one of the shocks of the season last week when they defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the Premier League. Jurgen KIopp’s Liverpool side were in the midst of an 18 match unbeaten run and had just inflicted the first domestic defeat of the season upon runaway leaders, Manchester City. Carlos Carvalhal’s side turned in an impressive defensive display in that game and he will be hoping for more of the same against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

Swansea City
Following their victory against Liverpool, Swansea City have now lost just one of their last four matches in the Premier League and that is the sort of form they will have to show if they are going to survive this season. The bottom half of the table is extremely tight and The Swans are just two wins behind Watford in 10th place. Carlos Carvalhal knows that things will be tough against Arsenal on Tuesday, but if his side can play anywhere near as well as they did against Liverpool, then they will have a chance. The manager will have been disappointed with the 1-1 draw against Notts County in the FA Cup, but his main focus will be on Premier League survival.
Arsenal
Arsenal started life without Alexis Sanchez in the best possible way against Crystal Palace, dispatching Roy Hodgson’s side 4-1 during a very impressive performance. With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang apparently close to joining and Jonny Evans also being linked, it could well be exciting times ahead for fans of Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s side were also very impressive in beating Chelsea 2-1 in the EFL Cup Semi Final and the Frenchman will have been delighted to see his side progress to a cup final so early in the season.
Talking Points
1. Swansea City are the lowest scorers in the Premier League this season, with just 15 goals in 24 games.
2. Arsenal have had plenty of problems on the road this season, winning just three of their 12 matches away from The Emirates Stadium.
3. The Gunners have scored just 14 goals in 12 games on the road, compared to 31 in 12 at home.
Swansea City v Arsenal – Betting Odds and Prediction
I think Swansea City have a really big chance to make it two big league wins on the bounce here against Arsenal. The Gunners have been very poor away from this season, as showcased by their three wins from 12 matches and considering Swansea City are coming into this game full of confidence, they can have a really good go at a weak Arsenal backline here. It’s a tough one to call, but I can see Swansea getting a draw on Tuesday night.
Top Betting Tip Swansea City v Arsenal
Arsenal start this game as favourites at odds of 1/2, whilst a home win for Swansea City is priced up at 6/1, with the draw available at 10/3. An interesting bet here could be Swansea or Draw at 17/10. I can see The Swans doing well in this one and at those odds, it could well be worth a punt.
