Betting Tip: Brighton v Crystal Palace

This weekend’s Third Round action in the FA Cup draws to a close with what should be a tight scrap down on the south coast. Brighton have proven to be a stubborn side at the Amex recently and have already held out there against Palace this season. But Palace are running with some new found confidence, so will they be able to crack the organised Brighton defence?

Brighton Form

The Seagulls have been a good home side, at least in avoiding defeat. They have posted a W1 D6 L1 record there in their last eight fixtures. That’s a whole lot of drawn games and the draw in the match outright here is going to have plenty of appeal. The Seagulls have had big problems sticking the ball in the onion bag this season but they have scored in three of their last four at the Amex. Any way you look at it, the game should go under 2.5 goals. Of the two, Brighton have the better defence, but at times this season, they have looked extremely lightweight in the final third of the pitch.

Crystal Palace Form

Palace are going well at the moment with just the one defeat in their last eleven games home and away. They should bring far more of an attacking threat to the table in this one but they were cancelled out at the Amex in the Premier League this season. They have some decent away form going as well at the moment as they are unwanted in their last five games away from Selhurst Park and they have collected three clean sheets in their last five road games as well. It has come together nicely for the Eagles after the arrival of Roy Hodgson, and they have more potential match winners than the home side do.

Head to Head News

There was a 0-0 Premier League draw at the Amex earlier this season between Brighton and Palace. Crystal Palace are up in the recent head to head against the Seagulls though having gone W2 D2 L1 against them and the Eagles have posted a great W3 D1 L1 record in their last five visits to the south coast to face the Seagulls. None of the last five meetings has seen both teams score in a game.

Brighton v Crystal Palace – Betting Odds and Predictions

The Seagulls are 13/8 for the home win with Palace at 9/5 to take the tie.

Top Betting Tips Brighton v Crystal Palace

Brighton have held their own well at the Amex this season and this just has a draw written all over it again. The two may well just cancel each other out again, especially as there is a reason to suspect that neither are going to be at full strength either.
