Premier League Betting Tips – Tuesday

As we approach Christmas, the football schedule gets busier and busier. This week is no different and there is a full schedule of games taking place across Tuesday and Wednesday night in the Premier League. In this article I will be taking a look at the three games being played on Tuesday night and seeing what the best value bets are in them.

Burnley v Stoke City

Burnley have been the surprise package of this season and Sean Dyche’s side currently find themselves in 7th place, just two points outside the Champions League places. On Tuesday they come up against a struggling Stoke City side who are only three points above the relegation zone. There are rumours that another defeat for Stoke City could see Mark Hughes lose his job and I think that defeat will come against Burnley.

Burnley are still continually priced up with long odds and they are available at 5/4 to pick up the victory on Tuesday; that represents a really good value bet to me. In terms of goals, under 2.5 goals at 8/15 looks like printing money in this game; three of Burnley’s last four matches have finished 1-0 and defensively they are one of the best teams in the league.

Crystal Palace v Watford

The other over achieving side in the league this season has been Watford and on Tuesday they travel to bottom club Crystal Palace looking for their first win in three matches. Palace should have beaten Bournemouth in their last game and were it not for Christian Benteke’s ludicrous decision to take and miss a last gasp penalty, they would have done. Don’t be surprised to see Benteke dropped for this game after going against the manager and the rest of his team’s wishes.

I think this could be a tight game; Palace are due a win and have been performing much better recently, whilst Watford are an excellent attacking team, especially away from home. I fancy Palace to edge this one, but at 23/20 I’m not sure I’d be betting on them. A better bet could be Over 3.5 goals at 9/4; three of Watford’s last five away matches have gone past that point and they have been leaking goals recently. Wilfried Zaha was lively again on Saturday, winning two penalties and I’m backing him to score at anytime in this one at odds of 7/4.

Huddersfield Town v Chelsea

Huddersfield Town have been solid at home recently, winning three of their last five with the only defeats coming against Manchester City and Spurs. On Tuesday they come up against a Chelsea team who really need to win after losing to West Ham United on Saturday. Antonio Conte’s side were extremely poor in that game and looked very leggy after a tough midweek game against Atletico Madrid. Conte will likely make changes for this game and we could see the likes of Pedro, Willian and Victor Moses come into the team.

I think Chelsea will win this game, but the odds of 2/5 are not worth the risk in my opinion. A better bet could be Willian to score at anytime at 15/8, because I think the Brazilian winger will start on Tuesday with Conte looking to freshen his side up. I would also be tempted by Under 2.5 goals at 19/20 as Chelsea have looked a little blunt in attack in recent weeks and Huddersfield Town are usually solid defensively at home.
