Following a thrilling weekend in the Premier League, five teams turn their attentions back to the Champions League on Tuesday and Wednesday as the final round of games in the group stages take place. There is still a lot to play for with Liverpool and Manchester United not assured of their progression to the next round. In this article I will be analysing Tuesday’s matches and building you a 4-fold bet to take advantage of. All of the odds in this article come courtesy of bet365 and are accurate at the time of writing.
Barcelona v Sporting
Barcelona are unbeaten in this season’s Champions League, but after drawing their last two games 0-0, they still need to get something out of their last group match to assure themselves of top spot in Group D. On Tuesday they come up against a Sporting side who still have a chance of qualifying for the next round, but they would need Juventus to drop points against Olympiakos and beat Barcelona at The Camp Nou. I’m backing Barcelona to win this one and with Luis Suarez ending his goal drought on Saturday, he will be looking to kick start his season.

Benfica v Basel
This is a big game for Basel in Portugal; they come into the final group match level on points with CSKA Moscow and knowing that if they win they are guaranteed to progress. They’re heading out to play a Benfica side who have lost every game so far in this season’s competition, scoring just once and conceding 12 times. Benfica have nothing to play for and therefore I’m backing Basel to pick up an away win in this one.

Celtic v Anderlecht
Celtic have had it tough in this year’s competition being drawn alongside PSG and Bayern Munich, but on Tuesday they have the chance to confirm their 3rd place finish and progression through to the Europa League. Celtic’s only victory so far in the competition came away at Anderlecht and despite conceding 17 goals, I’m backing them to win at home in this one.

Bayern Munich v PSG
The biggest game on Tuesday night takes place in Germany as Bayern Munich take on PSG. PSG are all but assured of top spot in Group B, having scored 24 times and conceded just once. With that in mind, I think Bayern Munich will win this one. Bayern have been much improved since Jupp Heynckes returned as manager and I think they’ll do well as the competition progresses.
