Denver Nuggets vs LA Clippers: Current situation
The Nuggets coasted for long stretches of the regular season, finishing the year at 50-32 which was good enough for the 4th seed. The firing of head coach Michael Malone and GM Calvin Booth with less than 2 weeks left in the season was well documented, but the Nuggets haven’t shown signs of slowing down despite all the noise that came with that decision. They’ve now won 4 of 5 games and are 12-6 SU in their last 18 played in April.
LA was one of the more surprising teams in the regular season which they finished in 5th place following a huge win on the final day vs Golden State. Their 8-game win streak came to a halt after they lost game 1 of this series, but Kawhi Leonard and co. are still 8-1 ATS in 9 road games, plus they’ve covered the spread in 14 of 18 games and in 5 of the last 7 meetings vs the Nuggets.
Denver Nuggets Stats & Form
Overtime was needed to decide the first meeting between the two teams in this series as the Nuggets took care of business at home thanks to some late heroics from Russell Westbrook. Nikola Jokic had his standard 29 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists, while Aaron Gordon added 25 and 8 rebounds. It was also encouraging to see Jamal Murray have 21 and 9 rebounds despite playing with a hamstring issue.
LA Clippers Stats & Form
James Harden once again had a massive game for the Clippers finishing with 32 points and 11 assists. Kawhi Leonard added an efficient 22, but turned the ball over 7 times. Ivica Zubac had a hot start to the game and finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds, making life difficult for Nikola Jokic on the offensive end. It is a concern for LA that they got just 13 points from their bench players though.
Denver Nuggets vs LA Clippers: Head-to-Head
The Clippers opened the regular season with back-to-back wins in this match-up, but Denver has now responded with two double-digit wins in the regular season and they also took Game 1 of this series on Sunday by 2 points. This means that the Nuggets are now 6-4 SU in the last 10 meetings and have won 8 of the last 9 meetings at Ball Arena.

Betting tip and prediction: Denver Nuggets vs LA Clippers (21.04.2025)
Game 1 between the Nuggets and Clippers was without of doubt the most exciting game on Day 1 of this postseason as it went down the wire. The Clippers were able to cover the spread, but that is very little comfort for a team was so close to retaining home court advantage in the first game of the series. They say a series doesn’t begin until the road team wins a game, LA has to make adjustments for Monday’s clash as they cannot afford to go down 2-0 in this series. One thing they should concentrate on doing here is allowing their bench players to have a more productive game, one of the deepest teams in the league cannot afford to have just 13 points scored off the bench in such a big game. Meanwhile, we do not anticipate the Nuggets gameplan changing much as they already have the blueprint on how to beat this Clippers team. Nikola Jokic had to work a lot harder to get to his near triple-double numbers, but the Joker is showing no signs of slowing down and as the series progresses we expect him to elevate his game even further. Denver won’t mind entering Game 2 as the underdog, until the Clippers win a game we are just going to continue backing the Nuggets here.
