It has been a really powerful season from Notts County who have only suffered the two league defeats in League Two. They are looking like genuine promotion candidates this season from there. They are yet to suffer a home loss in the league this season so it is unlikely that they are going to slip up in this one, even if they do send out an understrength side. The Magpies have only lost once all season across all competitions at Meadow Lane and that was against Mansfield in the Football League Trophy. They took a comfortable 4-2 home win over Bristol Rovers in the second round to set up this tie and they look a bit of a lock to reach the third round.

Oxford City are down just above the drop zone on goal difference only in the National League South. They have collected only the four league wins all season from 18 league contests played so this cup run has come as a bit of a surprise really. Overall this season in all competitions they have posted a W6 D5 L10 record and two of their last four wins have been in the FA Cup. They opened their cup campaign with a 1-0 home win over Bognor Regis in the first round proper before landing a 1-0 win out at League Two side Colchester. So they have already pulled off a Cup upset this season. But this could be a different kettle of fish for them.
