Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets: Current situation
With just Brandin Podziemski not playing, the Warriors are in as good of shape they’ve been all season. Their offense is clicking on all cylinders, while defensively they are a top 3 team in the NBA since the Jimmy Butler trade. Their last 2 opponents have scored 94 and 104 points, this team is catching fire just at the right time. Catching the Lakers in 5th isn’t out of the question either, only 2 games separate the two teams.
Aaron Gordon going in and out of the line-up shouldn’t be underestimated, as the Nuggets try to find some type of consistency. Since the all-star break they’ve won back-to-back games only once, for a team that’s trying to content that is far too low. Losing to the Washington Wizards twice this season was also a bad look, especially when the Nuggets were double-digit favorites to win on Saturday.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
It wasn’t the prettiest of games to watch, but the Warriors were able to dispose of the New York Knicks 97-94 on Saturday. Their defensive tenacity was on a different level, it had to be as they struggled to score the ball. Only Stephen Curry had a solid scoring night with 28 points, while Jimmy Butler added just 11 as the Warriors shot under 40% from the field which is a rarity for them.
Denver Nuggets Stats & Form
A 40-point game from Nikola Jokic wasn’t enough as Denver fell at home to the Wizards, despite entering the game as 12.5 point favorites. The Nuggets led by as many as 16 points in that one, but a late three-pointer by Jordan Poole buried them. Just 8 points scored by the 2nd unit is also a concern, but that should fix itself once Gordon returns and Westbrook goes back to coming off the bench.
Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets: Head-to-Head
Nikola Jokic had 38 points and 10 rebounds in the Nuggets win on December 3rd in the first meeting of the season. It was the 8th straight victory for Denver in head-to-head meetings, they’ve swept the last 2 regular season series. In 193 regular season meetings all-time, Denver has 108 wins, while the Warriors are at 85 wins.
Golden State Warriors – Denver Nuggets Odds
Going for an 8th win in a row for Golden State here gets you odds of 5/6. If you like Denver to pull off the upset, you can get them at 23/20 odds.
The point total has been set at 225.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets (17.03.2025)
As things stand the Warriors and Nuggets would meet in the 1st round of the Western Conference playoffs, so Monday’s game carries a little more weight than it normally would. Only the Cleveland Cavaliers have a longer active win streak than the Warriors do right now, that’ll certainly be tested here by the Nuggets. The two teams have met once already this season, with Denver coming out on top 119-115. However, that game was played back in December, way before the Warriors had Jimmy Butler on their roster so it carries very little weight. Butler is the least of Denver’s concerns going into this game though. Over their last 3 games opponents have connected on 40.8% of their three-point attempts, so it could be another long night trying to contain Stephen Curry here. Aaron Gordon missing another game also isn’t helpful, that just allows Jimmy Butler to solely focus on guarding Jamal Murray here. Michael Porter Jr. has the opportunity to be the x-factor here, he had 22 points the last time these two teams met. Golden State will struggle trying to stop Nikola Jokic, but that’s something we see on a nightly basis by every other team in the NBA. With the way things have played out lately, we would still give the edge to the Warriors here. The acquisition of Butler has transformed them into a contender, playing at home gives them a slight edge in this match-up.
