Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Lakers: Current situation
The Western Conference is so competitive this season that you can drop a couple of spots in the standings on any given night. Denver dropped to 3rd after their loss to Minnesota on Wednesday as the Grizzlies overtook them by winning their 4th game in a row. The importance of winning this game against the Lakers is massive as the two teams are just within half a game in the standings.
Losing back-to-back games to the Celtics and Nets has brought the Lakers down to Earth a bit. They are now 8-2 SU in their last 10 games, but with the current injury situation and strength of schedule it is not unreasonable to think they’ll drop even further in the standings. The 5th seeded Houston Rockets are just half a game back, things are very much still wide open in the Western Conference.
Denver Nuggets Stats & Form
It’s not often we get to see the Nuggets get dominated on the glass, but that’s exactly what happened in their 115-95 loss to Minnesota the other day. Nikola Jokic finished with just 8 rebounds, one of his lowest marks of the entire season. As a team the Nuggets went ice cold from three-point land, connecting on just 7 of 30 shots.
Los Angeles Lakers Stats & Form
Prior to this game the Lakers are in Milwaukee on Thursday night, so this will be a 2nd night of a back-to-back for them. Luka Doncic had a really poor game in Brooklyn on Monday, going just 8-for-26 from the field. As a team the Lakers finished with just 43% shooting from the field and they also turned the ball over 15 times. Both of those stats will need to be addressed in the coming games by head coach JJ Redick.
Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Lakers: Head-to-Head
That Lakers win in the most recent meeting ended a 5-game win streak for Denver in head-to-head meetings. This means that the Nuggets swept the regular season series last year, but they still have a long way to catch the Lakers in the all-time regular season win total. LA has won 114 of the 194 meetings so far, while the Nuggets are at 80 wins entering Friday’s game.
Denver Nuggets – Los Angeles Lakers Odds
Going with Jokic and co. to bounce back from that ugly Wednesday loss nets you odds of 4/7 here. If you like the Lakers on the road, then odds of 9/5 are available.
The point total has been set at 225.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Lakers (14.03.2025)
The Lakers are slowly entering their toughest stretch of the season with 6 games in 9 days. The timing of such an extremely dense schedule couldn’t come at a worst time as they currently have Jaxson Hayes, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura and Maxi Kleber all out injured. Even star player Luka Doncic is dealing with a back issue, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they decided to sit him in select games just so he doesn’t overdo it. Denver is in a slightly better position, they have the 12th hardest remaining schedule, but their games are more spread out which should work in their favor. They’re coming off a disappointing loss to Minnesota where they made just 7 of 30 threes and shot 40% from the field. The match-up against the Lakers should work in their favor, LA is one of the thinnest teams on the inside and going up against a player like Nikola Jokic they will run into major issues here. Jokic is still pretty much in the running for the MVP award and he’s putting up numbers on a nightly basis. Losing 2 of 3 games will certainly be a motivating factor for Denver here, but also they’re looking to get revenge for a 123-100 loss to LA some 3 weeks ago. In that game the Lakers got 25 points and 9 rebounds from LeBron James, with him out we just don’t believe the Lakers will have enough to keep in touch with the Nuggets. Give us the home team and the spread.
