Premier League 4-Fold – Saturday

Following a mixed week for English sides in Europe, the Premier League returns this weekend with some huge games on Saturday, including Liverpool vs Chelsea at Anfield. That is just one game which will feature in this 4-fold bet preview with all of the odds accurate at the time of writing.

Manchester United v Brighton

Manchester United were poor against Basel on Wednesday night, going down to a late goal during a 1-0 loss. Jose Mourinho will have been disappointed by his players and will be asking for a whole lot more from them on Saturday. The Red Devils were excellent during last weekend’s 4-1 victory against Newcastle United and Mourinho will be hoping for a repeat of that this time out. Brighton have surprised plenty of people this season though and come into this game on a run of five games unbeaten after Monday’s 2-2 draw with Stoke City. I fancy Manchester United to be back to their best in this one though and I’m backing them to win with a -1 handicap.

Newcastle United v Watford

Newcastle United have been on a poor run recently, losing three games on the spin to drop into the bottom half of the table. Rafael Benitez will be desperate to arrest that run, but it won’t be easy against a Watford side who find themselves in 8th place after a superb start to the season. They, themselves, won for the first time in three games last weekend thanks to a comfortable 2-0 win against struggling West Ham United. I’m backing Newcastle United to get back to winning ways in front of their home crowd in this one, but it won’t be easy.

Tottenham Hotspur v West Bromwich Albion

Title chasing Tottenham Hotspur welcome managerless West Bromwich Albion to Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon with both sides in desperate need of a victory. Tony Pulis was relieved of his duties as WBA manager on Monday following a run of just two wins in 21 matches that culminated in a 4-0 home defeat to Chelsea. It’s hard to look past a comfortable victory for Spurs in this one, especially considering Harry Kane and Dele Alli looked someway back to their best against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night during the 2-1 victory in Germany. That victory ensured Spurs will finish top of their group, above Real Madrid.

Liverpool v Chelsea

Liverpool welcome Chelsea to Anfield on Saturday evening in the biggest game of the day between two teams who have been in great form in the league recently. Liverpool threw away a 3-0 half time lead against Sevilla on Tuesday night, but previous to that the Anfield club had won four games on the spin. Liverpool have been oft criticised for their poor defence, but at Anfield they have conceded just once in the Premier League. I can see this game ending in a score draw and it is certainly one that neither manager will want to lose.
